OrlandoChampion Nets the Gold and a National Interview

FL - Many familiar with Dale Dees work here in
Orlando do not know he is also an accomplished stylist in competitive hairdressing.
Dale’s latest achievements in the
sport will be broadcast this Thursday, March 13, on
NBC’s "The TODAY Show"
Challenged by 55 competitors, representing
15 countries, Dale won the only US gold medal in individual professional competition
at the 2008 Hairworld Championships earlier this month.
 Dale will be featured in
two time slots: First appearing at approximately 8 a.m., Dale’s interview recorded
prior to competition and after final results will show his work on the competition
floor.
Ten o’clock will find Dale live on
NBC’s "The TODAY Show"
searching for a head worthy to recreate a dramatic competition look. Final styles
will be revealed in the last half hour of the show.
A professional competitor for many
years, Dale’s numerous accomplishments including the bronze he won two years ago
decorate the walls of his
Orlando salon.
Also featured at the
2006 Hairworld Championships, Dale and Team
US were the subject of a PBS documentary. Entitled
"HAIRWORLD: THE PURSUIT OF EXCELLENCE,"
the documentary by Mark Lewis aired last summer.
Not much can top receiving
the gold with his mother in the audience, or the attention he’s received as a result,
so Dale plans to end his competitive career on a high note. Focusing his attention
to his clients and salon, Dale hopes to someday pass his expertise to future
competitors.
